Chanel has released a video of the making of its iconic Little Black Jacket, a staple of the brand that's been around for even longer than the quilted handbag. From each painstakingly made initial measurements to the final, handsewn button, the creation of the jacket is a peek at what a one-of-a-kind, handmade piece of clothing looks like.

Lesson in minimalism

Read more...Yohji Yamamoto provides a lesson in minimalism at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

The setting for this retrospective at the V&A - a bank of strip lighting, four white-washed walls provides the perfect backdrop to Yamamoto's 30 years in the industry. The garments speak for themselves.
Mannequins are arranged so that visitors can walk in-between them, get up close to the fabric and detail, and have that all-important 360˚ view of the construction. This is the only real way to fully appreciate the cutting and tailoring behind some his signature pieces.
